Farm to Table with Sarah the Farmer
This month for our Community Day we welcomed Farmer Sarah to the school. She brought chickens!! She spoke with us about different types of farms (vegetable, animal, grape etc.) and what the role of the farmer is on these farms. We participated in a few fun farm focused activities: we pruned vines and tasted grape juice from red and green grapes, we made prints using different vegetables, and we played an egg matching game where we were challenged to match the egg to the chicken it came from. We continued to explore farms throughout the week by reading farm based stories, participating in art activities, and engaging in our farm themed environment. Thank you Farmer Sarah!
