For our Community Day this month, we welcomed Farmer Sarah to the school!
She discussed her role as a farmer, taught us how to prune grape vines (and brought some concord grapes for us to try!), let us pet her chickens, discussed the different types of vegetables on her farm, and showed us how she harvests them.
We then participated in harvest-themed yoga, and a “corral the animals” game (with beach balls and pool noodles). In art class, we made handprint chickens and used root vegetables for stamping with paint. We also played in our harvest-themed sensory bin, created with harvest play dough, and had a lot of fun using the new wheelbarrows, rakes, and hay bales added to the environment. Phew, it was a busy day!
Thank you, Farmer Sarah!!
